Chris
Trewick (Karunapalita) MBACP Welcome In Counselling (Psychotherapy) it is my intention to create a safe environment where issues that are troubling you can be explored. These experiences such as anxiety, depression or other difficult experiences can be helped by being in relation to a person-centred counsellor. It is a time where you can be yourself and investigate what is happening for you in the present moment. Humanistic experiences such as existential living and bereavement issues can be mindfully and gently reflected on. This therapeutic relationship is confidential. Its core principles are authenticity, acceptance and empathy. Confidentiality Confidentiality is the basis of all therapy relationships. As a counsellor it is my legal obligation to keep confidential all identifiable personal information about clients. There is also a moral and ethical responsibility to keep confidential the content of therapy sessions. The only circumstances where confidentiality may be breached are when there is serious concern for the client's life or other lives are at risk, also where serious criminal activities are present. There may also be circumstances when the psychological or emotional health of a client may cause concern that extra support such as from a GP would be required. In such situations the client would be fully involved in obtaining any extra support. |
